Those Dreadful Fees Just Became A Little Less Dreadful

I’m not really one to announce things like this but since you people have been wishing me well and good luck in my search for financial help for tuition fees,  I thought I’d share with you some good news.

I have managed to secure a £3,000 grant for the first year of my university fees to study English Language and Literature. This is quite relieving as it means now I only have to borrow £6,000 from family and friends. It is still quite a large number but hopefully it should be fine.

Thanks for all the words of encouragement!

Until Next Time

  1. Wait, they’re the ones that don’t need to be repaid, right? Provided you can still have it, as in, are eligible. *searches memory for old conversations*
    Essentially loans, though..I assume?
Correct me if I’m wrong. I suppose I am. To google I go!

  2. Congrats!
I’d make sure you definitely do a LOT of research for any scholarships, grants or bursaries you’re eligible for – Universities don’t like telling you when you can basically get money for free. I recently found out that I could get an extra £3000 on my student finance Wales grant because of the area that I lived in, and that my University should have told me about :/
But yes! Congratulations! And keep looking, in case there’s more free money 😀

    • Because I can’t deal in interest for religious reasons. I would actually love to be able to take a student finance loan out as it would of course make things far easier!
The longer explanation can be found if you search for the post: ‘From Headache To Migrane’ in the search bar above 🙂

      • yeah! I know but for me that was the only case for studying; to take tuition fee loans or else I wouldn’t have been able to go to uni. Even though things like debt and interest have a hold in my religious beliefs too, in my opinion there was simply no other choice or any way in which I would have been able to afford 9,000 a year.

  3. Congratulations on your grant. That’s wonderful news! Perhaps if you concentrate on how grateful you are for what you have received and accomplished, and for what is on the way, it will prove even more productive than worrying. You’re obviously doing Something right! 🙂
