World Cup In The Work Place

I quite like the adverts that have been playing about the world cup during the matches. Normally I tend to ignore them, clicking skip ad as soon as possible on YouTube or even deciding not to watch a video if it means I have to suffer through 30 seconds of promotional material. However, the advert where office workers are secretly watching a match but pretend to resume normal duties when their boss pops his head in is quite funny.

Sadly, since I work in a tuition centre there is no hope of watching the football whilst working. You can imagine the uproar it would cause amongst the children and teachers. Lucky office workers, then again if they have an evil boss then there is no hope for them either. I read about how an agency was offering advice to companies on how to deal with the world cup drama. Just shows how crazy we become about the world cup! Even those who don’t really care about football tend to get caught up in it all. However, I find it hard to concentrate on some matches where there is not enough excitement, books and films have spoilt me you see.

How is your workplace when it comes to the world cup? The people I really feel sorry for are those who have no interest whatsover in football but they still have to endure a month of hyped up mania. Poor souls. Anyway, back to work for me.

Until Next Time

  1. Hi there Worried Student,
Great sporty post – My workplace is my home and my giant husband follows the football with the hitting and knocking down stuff ;-). My sister who lives in Brooklyn, has said NYC gets pretty insane when it comes to soccer and big cups!
