Windows. I don’t really like to open them, not because I am paranoid like my mother who thinks thieves will immediately clamber through them if they are left open and unattended for a minute but simply I don’t feel the need to. You could say that I get a cold easily, even in summer I often have one whilst still feeling as if the rest of my body is being cooked.
The last few days have been quite warm though in England so this morning, I felt the need to open the window in my bedroom as the air was stuffy and hot. Eagerly anticipating a breath of fresh air to revitalize the atmosphere, I took in a deep lungful of tandoori chicken. Yes my friend, the scent of tandoori chicken floated through my window and dispersed itself into my room. You see, my mother was cooking downstairs in the kitchen and in her desire to get some fresh air through opening the kitchen’s windows, she had deprived me of the sweet fresh air of polluted London.
Alas, back to the fan we go.
I don’t like to open windows either because when the wind blows here, a layer of dust comes with in. 🙂

But still, I can’t seem to leave my fan! 😀

I love opening windows but others in the house do not–or rather, they have very specific conditions under which windows may be opened: a narrow range of temperature, humidity, and lack of pollen. Bottom line: Two or three days out of each year when it’s okay to open the windows. Not home that day? Too bad. No open windows til next year. 🙂

Haha wow! Who knew opening windows could be so political? I like how you still try to persevere under the conditions that are placed on you for now I have an image of you cheekily and sneakily opening the window when nobody is looking!

I’m not sure I could live without open windows, whatever the season or weather. Then again, I have a stupidly hearty constitution and I don’t live in London.
I do find the concept of how “freshness” becomes extremely subjective to be tantalizing.

Ahah you like the fresh breeze! Funnily enough, I don’t really think London’s air is so polluted but that may be just because I haven’t experienced any other type of ‘fresh’ air!
